Math Reflection

Today in math we had to solve the equation 3/4 divided by 1/8. How I figured out this problem is I did the reciprocal system, an easy way to remind me how to properly do it is CCF ( Copy, Change, Flip). How it works is you keep the first number they same, (copy) then you change the order of math. So, we will change the division to multiplication. Lastly, you flip the number, so instead of 1/8 we will flip it to 8/1. So multiply 3/4 by 8/1 and there is your answer. Which is 6!

Among The Free Book Review

Over the Winter Break I reread one of my favorite books, it's called Among The Free By Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is apart of the Among The Hidden series. I would rate this book and series a five star.

I can't really summaries just this book because it is the last book in the series, and it will be very confusing. So... In the city they live in, they cannot have more then two children because they government believes that the city will over populate and no one can keep up with farming food for them. So, they can only have two kids. But this family has "adopted" (you will figure out what that means in the book) this boy named Luke, but he is a third child. And keep him hidden. He figures there is something wrong with their neighbors. He takes a trip there and finds a pleasant surprise. And that is how this entire series happened of conflict, sadness, happiness, etc.

Some of the main author's craft I really like in this book was how at least in every other page there was a cliff hanger which made me always want to keep on reading. As well as, the emotion she puts in the book really makes you feel it in person, which is what I love in a book.

I would really recommend this book for people who enjoy more of like a not so happy book, feeling the emotion in books, and especially cliff hangers. Enjoy!

Mick Harte Was Here Project

There are moments in life that stand out. Mainly they are memories, others, maybe evens sometimes getting to know yourself through some situations. Probably some of those situations are like from the story Mick Harte Was Here. What happened in this story is there is this young, sweet girl who cares for her family very much, but one day a tragedy happened in her family. Her brother was in a biking accident, and passed away unexpectedly. Phoebe and her family had quite a depressing time. But we learn that Phoebe’s friends and neighbor’s make an impact on Phoebe and her family. Once they came with food and to take care of their family, it was a huge impact on Phoebe because she got to find her self again, who she really was before the tragedy. That was one of the moments in Phoebe’s life that really stands out.

“Maybe things happen for a reason to change somebody else's life” ~ Phoebe’s teacher. I sometimes believe in that quote because a lot of bad things can happen, but sometimes good things can come out of it. Like Phoebe she found her true self, but she is always sad about the incident. But you can tell she has changed.
