Mick Harte Was Here Project

There are moments in life that stand out. Mainly they are memories, others, maybe evens sometimes getting to know yourself through some situations. Probably some of those situations are like from the story Mick Harte Was Here. What happened in this story is there is this young, sweet girl who cares for her family very much, but one day a tragedy happened in her family. Her brother was in a biking accident, and passed away unexpectedly. Phoebe and her family had quite a depressing time. But we learn that Phoebe’s friends and neighbor’s make an impact on Phoebe and her family. Once they came with food and to take care of their family, it was a huge impact on Phoebe because she got to find her self again, who she really was before the tragedy. That was one of the moments in Phoebe’s life that really stands out.
“Maybe things happen for a reason to change somebody else's life” ~ Phoebe’s teacher. I sometimes believe in that quote because a lot of bad things can happen, but sometimes good things can come out of it. Like Phoebe she found her true self, but she is always sad about the incident. But you can tell she has changed.

Tchoukball Reflection

One thing I did good on was having some power so I could shoot well at my aim. Also I did well on sort of having that first pointing to your aim arm going on.
One thing that I could improve on from the video is having more of the my arm just about right behind my head. I could also work on having the throwing arm going into a downward arm.
Some improvement that I noticed is that I had my point out for longer, getting my arm nicely at 90 degrees behind my head. Also one I threw my ball, having a nice downward arm.
I think I did really well in applying myself the sending skills when playing Tchoukball, because I followed the right skill movements, and proper throwing and receiving.

Reflection

Science is great class. You get to learn a lot of new things and experience a lot of new things. Right now we just finished our matter and volume unit, it was a lot of fun that I wish that we could have that unit again soon. Some things to reflect on are...

What I learnt was how to figure out the volume of an irregular object using water displacement. Using a water displacement is very fun and easy. I hope that soon I can figure out the volume of me. I also learnt how to figure out the density of things. density was sort of hard at first, but now it is easy. Density is the amount of stuff there is per cubic volume, and how you get it is you divide mass by volume, so the density unit is g/cm3. I also learnt a lot more things, to many things that I can't say all of them. But these two were the most commonly used and fun for me.

What I still am a bit confused about is probably sometimes describing what density actually is. I know how to get density but sometimes I get confused on how to say what it is. I only sort of remembered how to define density about two weeks ago.

What the most memorable thing to me was water displacement. Why it was most memorable to me because it was really fun and interesting how it works to find the volume of an irregular object. I really hope we can do more water displacement in the class in the future.

The matter unit was a lot of fun, but now I can not wait for our new chemistry unit!

Fraction Comparison Reflection

I now know how to compare fractions using cross products. It is a very simple way of comparing fractions. All you do is cross denominator and nominator on each side and multiply them together. Whichever crossed fraction has the greatest number by denominator of where you switched it is greater

I know what LCD is. It is like the the LCM, just a least common denominator.

When it is better to use another method over another maybe if the fraction also has a whole number with it. Or if is just a really complex number

Isabella's and I's Submarine!

How we got our submarine to work, was that to make our submarine sink we filled it up with ballast and a few stones. On the sides as you can see are red bowls, one facing up and one facing down. The reason why they are like that is for the water pressure going down and up, so when the submarine goes down there will be water pressure in the cup that will sort of make it go up. Same as when the submarine will go up it will have a little bit of water pressure that will go down. So it will help when we make the submarine neutral buoyancy. As well as at the very top we cut in and placed a tube so when we want our submarine to float, we will just blow air into it through the tube and it will rise.

But sadly there were a few wholes through the duck tape so it couldn't exactly rise, so amazing Mrs. Hill told us to take of the cap, make it sink then blow into it. And surprisingly it came up so fast that we can properly present that our submarine can positive buoyancy, negative buoyancy, and neutral buoyancy in front of our science class. That is and how our submarine floats.

Sportsmanship- On The Sporting Field And In Everyday Life

An example of sportsman ship is if you hurt someone or they are hurt, just stop and help them. How I have demonstrated this, this year in pe was in our floor hockey unit. What happened was I accidentally waked a lot of people on the legs with my hockey stick. But once I did, I stopped and yelled for the game to stop because someone was hurt, and once everyone stopped I helped up the person, asked if they were ok. Also I said that I was so sorry to them a lot.

3 ways you can demonstrate sportsmanship on the field is once the game is over, even if you won or lost, always go up to the team and congratulate them and compliment them. Even though they might have lost, at least they still worked together really well and put in their best. Another way is cheer for your coach, he has put in a lot of work and effort to organize and teach you for every game. Cheer him up also at the end of a game, no matter what. Lastly have a fair game, don't brag about winning to your opponent, or even shout and get mad at them. Because at the end you are still all winners for doing you best and having fun with a fair game

2 ways of that you can demonstrate sportsmanship in real life is no matter where, if you see someone who just got injured or fell, even though you might not have done it, help them up and ask them if they are ok. That could make their day even better. Also follow rules, in everyday life you need to follow rules, if you do it shows you have a great spirit of sportsmanship.

Lastly, 1 new way I can demonstrate sportsmanship is to always after a pe class or a sport, thank the teacher because you don't realize how much work and effort they put in for your class.

Sportsmanship!

All the facts you need to know about sportsmanship is just below!

Cartesian Diver Investigation

To make the diver float in an upright position in a bottle or a beaker, you have just got to fill the diver up with a small bit of water and then put it in the bottle or beaker. When we put the diver into the beaker with a small bit of water in it, the mass changed because the dropper and more water went in it, so it would effect/change the mass. What we used as a ballast to make the diver float up right, was of course the little bit of water in the diver.

What our group did to get the diver work in the bottle, was at first we realized that you can't fill up the diver with to much water to put in the bottle. Otherwise it will just sink to the bottom and you can't squeeze it up. So after that observation we tried filling up the dropper with different amounts of water and tested it in the beaker. Once we got the right amount of water we put it in the water bottle and started to investigate.

So at first we realized when the dropper is first in the water without squeezing it, we observed that it was in an upright position, so it is perfectly straight. Also that the water in it made it perfectly float just right. As well as that the density of it is less than 1g/cm3. And the volume is more than the mass.

When we squeezed the bottle so the diver would be in the middle we observed that the dropper has fully emerged. The droppers position was also slightly tilted when it went in the middle. We also observed that the deeper the dropper get it fills up with more water so it can float in different areas. So the water raised to half way through the dropper. The density of  the dropper half way would be 1g/cm3. And the volume and mass are equal.

Lastly we squeezed the bottle even more so the dropper was finally at the bottom. Again the dropper filled up with more water so the water was at 3/4 filled. As well as the dropper was in an upright position. Also the density of it was more that 1g/cm3. As well as, the volume is less than its mass.

So to make the dropper sink, you need a ballast which is something to that you add to the floating object to make it sink. Also known as, that you just add more mass to the floating object to make it sink. The ballast, in this case would be the water as when we squeeze the bottle it sinks and more water fills into the dropper.

Submarine Homework

How a submarine works is that it has a thin, long shaped body so it can move lightly and swiftly in the ocean. How a submarine goes up and down in the water by using a Ballast Tank.  The Ballast Tanks are made of air so its density is less than the water surrounding it. How the Ballast Tanks work so you can move is that the Ballast Tanks then fill up with water making the entire amount of density of the ship higher than the the surrounding water.

1,000 Locker's Explanation

In the lockers problem out of the 1,000 lockers 31 lockers will be open in the end. The 31 lockers that are open 1 ,4 ,9 ,16 ,25 ,36 ,49 ,64 ,81 ,100 ,121 ,144 ,169 ,198 ,225 ,256 ,289 ,324 ,361 ,400 441, 484, 529, 576, 625, 676, 729, 784, 841,900, and lastly 961. The reason why these lockers are open is because they are all square numbers. The reason why these square numbers are open is because they have an odd amount of factors.

How I figured out this answer is that on a hundreds chart I went up to the number 30 doing the number pattern from the book. Then I figured out that all the lockers open are square numbers, So then I figured out the rest of the square numbers up to a thousand. SO in the end there are 31 lockers open.

Rainbow Lab

Volume is mass. Volume of liquids means the amount of liquid that takes up in a container. You find volume of liquid using a graduate cylinder. The basic unit of measurement for volume of liquid is liters. If there is a small amount, the unit is milliliters. When you read the amount of liquid in the graduate cylinder you read the bottom of the meniscus. A meniscus is the lowest convex dip of the volume of liquid in the graduate cylinder. Make sure you figure out all of the calibration marks on the graduated cylinder, because they are  not all marked the same.

Biathalon Video

What I did well on my freestyle stroke was I had good long straight legs and floppy feet. As well as a good angle on my arms with good scoops. Something I can improve on is when I get tired while doing freestyle I bend my legs a little bit which isn't good, so I can try to improve myself by pushing more and not bending my leg.

Perseverance is important and relevant when it comes to the biathlon because you have got to make new goals and motivate yourself that you can do it and keep on going in a good time. How I demonstrated this is I kept on going on I didn't stop a lot and say I can't do it, and like why do we have to do this it sucks. I just kept on going and going till I got to the end and realized wow, I just did a great job!

Math Reflections: Factors and Multiples

1.) You can decide that common factors and greatest common factors are helpful during a problem is when it is relevant to the problem, but usual I don't really think it is relevant unless that's how you solve the problem or what you do. Because if you need say the factors of 36 and 94, but that's all you need it's not relevant.

2 a.) How you figure out the common factors and greatest common factors is list out all the factors of each number. Then circle the factor that both numbers have. And those are the common factors. As well as, the greatest number out of the common numbers is the greatest common factor. As simple as that

2 b.) What information the greatest common factor gives you is what during the process to figure out the greatest common factor you figure out what the common factors of those numbers are. Also it provides you the information of the greatest common factors of those numbers.

3 a.) Sort of the same as question two you just list out all the multiples of the two numbers, then circle the common common which are the factors the main numbers both have. Then how to figure out the least common multiple, out of all the common multiples whatever the least number is that is you least common multiple.

3 b.) What information the least common multiple gives you is during the process it teaches you what the common multiples are of those numbers and it provides you the information of the least common multiples of those numbers.

Sprinting Technique

A few things that I did well on my sprint was doing high knees. As well as, I did well on but kicks. Some things I can work on are putting more of a ninety degree angle on my arms. As well as, I didn't exactly have a rear leg extension.

Speed vs. Accuracy Relfection

What I think about speed vs. accuracy, is that they are both important. But Accuracy is more important than speed to me because you would rather have the skill of going at your own pace and get all answers right. Than speeding through the whole entire test and get no answers right. But then again you can have a skill at both where you can speed through the test and get most answers right. But they are both evenly important and can both help you in your future life.

Every group has a different way of working together to get answers right. The strategies that my group used to make us work more effectively was we said our own thoughts out loud. We agreed to disagreed. But also which might not have been so fair but when it came to the hard questions at times, some of the smarter thinkers would have worked together to figure out the answer. But the whole group mainly collaborated together to share our ideas of the answer. Everybody works differently, they think that some ways might not work, but in the end we collaborated to figure out the right answers.

Protect Yourself, Not Only In Person, But Also On The Internet

Do you want a creepy stalker ringing at your doorbell? Well, I don’t. It’s a big deal to take risks with things which aren’t good. That is why you have to protect yourself when it comes to using the internet. Also, you don’t want to post some bad photos on the internet. You don’t know who could be looking at it and if they can put you at risk in the future. You don’t want to share much personal information, like your address, last name, contact details, etc., mainly because you don’t know what type of people are reading your blog posts. So today I will be teaching you the main rules about protecting yourself.

Photo by Martha Ormiston, from The Noun Project
When we got our laptops, our teachers were telling us that protecting yourself is very important on the internet. You have got to always think before you post. It scares me that when you share your personal information on the internet you don’t know who is reading it and what they could do. Also when you post some photos you take a risk with it because it could possibly mess up your future. I really think that if you see a photo that you are not so sure about posting, you shouldn’t post it. Sometimes if you think it’s ok you can take the risk, but I mainly think you should leave it because you don’t know what could happen. A good rule to follow is: If you don’t want your grandma to see it, don’t post it. But mostly, I think you should never ever share personal information on the internet. That puts you in a major risk from who is reading it. As they say, “What’s funny and harmless today, could be mean and hurtful tomorrow.”

I never really thought about that if you post some bad photos it could mess up your career. Even when you post your personal information you never know who is reading it what could they do. I learned that definitely always think before you post and just never ever, ever post personal information. I really think if you really think hard about this mentally, it can sometimes help you learn it even more. My teachers taught me about protecting yourself on the internet. But the more I thought about it, I got a deeper understanding about really what nobody should do.

Well now you definitely know how to protect yourself when it comes to the internet. And always keep that in your mind that think before you post, it is always a good lesson for you in the future so you know what to do.

Lim Kim San

Lim Kim San.jpgHave you ever wondered what Lim Kim San had done to help out Singapore? Well let’s just say Lim Kim San has done so many amazing things to help out Singapore in it’s previous times. He has done so much in the HDB services and helping out the poor. Before I did research on Lim Kim San, I never really knew what he did. But once you read through and see what it’s like to be in his shoes, you will never realize how many amazing things he had done. Lim Kim San has made a big difference on Singapore’s history, let me show you some of the amazing things that have happened.

Lim Kim San not only felt deeply for the poor, but he did more than just that. Lim Kim San also took a lot of time to find and make houses for the poor that were affordable for them. He even went out to help and care for the poor people, even give them clothes or food sometimes. Lim Kim San was very caring for the poor people. Lim Kim San did anything to make sure everyone had the right home. One time he made a challenge for himself to make everyone have the right home. Lim Kim San built 20,000 units of housing in twenty years! Lim Kim San made these houses affordable, good quality, and public so everyone can have a good home to live in. After building all these houses Lim Kim San won the Dajah Utam Temasek award. (In honor of Temasek/ Singapore)  Even the Ramon Magsaysay award after this huge accomplishment. Lim Kim San made a huge difference to Singapore just to help out the people, as well as to be very caring for the poor. Lim Kim San hasn’t only just make a difference, but he has made an effect to change. When more people came to Singapore and they needed more units of housing, Lim Kim San made 10,00 to 13,000 housing units in 1962- 1969. As well as Lim Kim San built 26,168 houses. Lim Kim San hasn’t only just effected change with housing, he has done more to effect change in Singapore’s history.

Lim Kim San had some downs in his life, but how did he deal with it? One of the struggles that Lim Kim San has had in his life was when his wife had died in 1994. It was so hard for him to get over his wife’s death, sometimes he wished he could someday soon go up with her, but he couldn’t make it happen. Luckily his grandchildren and great grandchildren helped him get along. Another struggle for  Lim Kim San was that he didn’t even get paid a cent. It must be hard to not get paid a cent, even when he has five or six children to take care of, which some of them still live with him. It also must have been a bit hard after his wife died. But Lim Kim San was still happy because his job made him happy still since he could help out the poor and make everything right for the Singaporeans. As well as his daughter was always there for him. Lastly a big struggle even that happened to Lim Kim San was that during the Japanese occupation. Lim Kim San was tortured on being suspicious of being a pro- communist and a pro- British. Luckily Lim Kim San survived the horror and even made a vow for the people of “ Never let our fate be decided by others.” Lim Kim San  has had some sad tragedies, but luckily like everyone we get through it.

Empathising Lim Kim San is like a whole new adventure. I couldn’t stop getting a bunch of ideas of how it is like being in Lim Kim San’s shoes. One thing that really stood out for me when I was in Lim Kim San’s shoes is how it is like to be having a responsibility on helping out the poor. Lim Kim San was very determined to help out the poor and he really enjoyed and it also made him feel good about himself doing what he did to help out the poor. But sometimes it could be difficult if the poor aren’t really helping you do what you are doing. Also while people are discouraging him on what he is doing while is has a lot of wealth on his job. Another thing that stood out for me while I was in Lim Kim San’s shoes was his job as a leader in the Housing and Development board (HDB). He was devoted to helping out others, and making them the right houses. But he did have stress with all the challenges he had to make lots of houses in a certain amount of time. As well as he had a burden on making houses, it was a big responsibility when a lot of people came to Singapore. Once you go into Lim Kim San’s shoes, even though how much he says he enjoys his job, he has some bad moments and stress on his job.
Lim Kim San2.jpg

After I was in Lim Kim San’s shoes, I learned so much about how much about how he has made a big difference to Singapore. I was so amazed of how much work he had to do and the struggles he had, but he always smiled and was full joy. If I was Lim Kim San and would be so frustrated of all the challenges and struggles. But I would at least still be happy to have a joyful life and help out the poor. Lim Kim San has taught us all a lot of how much we can make a difference, and enjoy it at the same time.

An Instruction Piece To Tell Our Parents What To Do During Spring Break

Well we all know that sometimes, well pretty much all the time, our parents pick what we should do. Well sadly sometimes it's during Spring break. Which is usually for me fun because we go to Japan and ski. But others are forced to do things they don't want to.

So parents sit back and let me show you what you should do with your kids during Spring break.

First if it's a very hot Spring break, I recommend you go down to the pool, maybe have some friends come over and have fun! Well thats what I usually like to do. A very good recommendation is bring quite a lot of junk food, or order.

Next thing parents is you should take them to their favorite place ever, or what I like to call. Decay your brain with video games! Well not literally but just play lots of video games with them. Maybe a tip is just don't over do it, you want to have them still pumped up for the next activity!

Another piece of advice is, well I like it so, have a movie marathon of their favorite movies! With probably, blankets, pillows, s'mores, marshmallows, and more junk food. But don' over do it sometimes, you don't want them to have a bad stomach for the next adventure.

Now you don't want to get your kids bored now for just hanging out with you. Organize quite a lot of playdates and sleepovers. Don't just do them at your house, go to really fun places! For example, a water park, an arcade, possibly a fair or Universal Studios. Now I call that fun!

Lastly, a great tip from me is, just have fun with it! Go with the flow! Usually parents let the kids do something they want while they are outside waiting and not having fun. Go inside and have fun with your kid! Don't get stressed out or bored, act like a kid and have fun with your child! I know that kids like it when you join in.

I have tons of ideas jumping around in my head but I can't say all of them. If I got to have Spring break with all of these and more ideas, it would be a great Spring break! But I'm happy that now every Spring break we go to Japan and ski!

All About My Bailey!

This is my dog Bailey!

I have a dog named Bailey! And I absolutely love her to bits! The breed of her is a Havanese. Havanese were also the very first circus dogs ever. Sadly my dog can't do any major, actually she can't do any tricks. And this is a bit late but if you are wondering she is a girl! Some main characteristics about her is that she is all love, hugs, and friends. She will always be there with you to cheer you up! Sadly, she is not a good guard dog! She will only ever kiss and hug you if you were an intruder in our house!

Bailey was my first ever dog. She is one of the most, most precious things to me. I will always love her even if she does something bad to me, which she never really does. She only frustrates my mom for leaving her messes around the house and taking our rappers. Bailey is my forever love!

This Weeks Picture Prompt

If I could have grown up in a different place and culture it would be Japan. I would pick Japan because Japan has always been my second home and my real home. I was born in Tokyo, and i lived there for about three years until I came here to Singapore. Every year during Spring break my family and I go back to Tokyo and we also go to Niseko for some fun skiing. So if I had to live anywhere else, it would have to be for us to still live in Tokyo.

If I still lived in Tokyo I'm not so sure if I'd be a different person or not. I think that maybe I would be a bit more independent even though  I sort of am. But I might also be outside more because it is not even close to how hot it is here! So I would be out more. If I still lived in Japan and would always still be my funny self no matter what.

Sometimes I still think about living in Japan. One day when I am older I might even want to live in Tokyo for a bit. Japan will always be my second home no matter what.

If I Could Have Any Two Famous People As My Parents, Who Would They Be?

If I had to have any two famous people to be my parents, for me they would be Jim Carry as my dad and and Leigh- Allyn Baker for my mom from Good Luck Charlie.

I would have Jim Carry be my dad because he is really funny. He has done a lot of comedy movies. But he is also really caring, friendly, nice, and again of course funny! In real life its known he has done a lot of charity work which I LOVE to do a lot! Also he always makes you smile if your in a bad mood which is always a good thing. Lastly he is always friendly. He always tries to make everyone his friend, but if not he will just say a joke and carry on with his day. Thats why I picked Jim Carry.

For my mom I would pick Leigh- Allyn Baker from Good Luck Charlie as my mom because she is really funny, feisty in a funny way, caring, also she doesn't really get mad. In Good Luck Charlie Leigh is always so funny! She does really good impressions and is very sarcastic in a funny way. Also the way she is funny is that she has a weird, funny child hood and weird, funny tips. One thing that i mainly like is the way she is really sarcastic, feisty in a funny way. If you watch Good Luck Charlie you would know what I mean!

Those are the reasons why I would pick Jim Carry to be my father and Leigh- Allyn Baker as my mom. Also as you can see I love people that are funny! Who would you pick to be your parents?

My Journey To Singapore

Destiny

Our writing unit has been really fun! This writing piece has been one of my very first more adventurous and mystical stories. Usually they are more kiddy mermaid type. But not this time. This is about a girl who's family is magical but she is not. They live in Hope but she lives on Earth. The Governor has trapped them, except for her. Wanna know what scary adventures she goes on to save her family? If
you do you should read this story now!

Somethings that I did well in this story is:

  • adding lots of detail
  • dialogue/ internal dialogue
  • the adventure.
Somethings I could improve on are:
  • make it seem a bit more exciting
  • first few paragraphs to make them a bit more interesting
  • a few missing verbs.

What Kept Me Up At Night When I Was Younger?

What kept me up at night when I was younger was that I have always believed in ghosts and I still believe in them. So when I was in bed when I was younger I always thought that there were ghosts around. I thought of them so much, I thought I could see the shape of them in the air. Then again I always believe that ghosts are around you and out and about all the time. I know that some people disagree but I believe in that.

Now in these days what keeps me up at night is that I want to play MINECRAFT, or I want to watch more TV. But that is mainly on the weekend. For weekdays I just crash out to sleep because I either have read to much, or I had a long, bad day and I just wanted it to be over!

There were many reasons that kept me up at night when I was younger, but that was the main one. Now that it is the weekend I can stay up all night and not worry about anything. Have a good weekend!

Christalite Methodist Home

Today we went to the Christalite Methodist Home again. This was another moment to remember, but it was even more special this time. It was more special because this time I really got to bond with people and have more of a communication with them. Last time it was a moment to remember, but last time I never really got to talk to them at all. I was mainly running around and helping out on crafts, I barely really got to talk to anyone. So, today I will talk to you about what the main special thing to me was and, well I don't know what else to say it was all so special.

The one main thing that was special was one of the guys that I meet was very religious man and must have carried some of his most precious things. It was really special because we started to talk a lot and we had a conversation, but then he showed me a few pictures of him when he was younger. But the most special one was the picture of him in 1957 in the Singapore Police Force. To me it was really special because he has been carrying that for years and it is a part of him. Like the way he still had is business card detail with him. He even still had his police name badge with him. So to me that was a very special moment for someone to share that with me.

Today this trip is amazing and they have all been amazing and I want to do it again. Everything there is special and they are all so nice that it is an adventure that you should do with them. But never forget to always believe in yourself.

Fitness Score Reflection

For my upper body strength (Number of push-ups) I was below the healthy range. My goal for next time is to at least get four or over. But if I don't get four or over, that will still be my goal and I will start to practice more of my push ups.

For my cardiovascular fitness (Number of PACER test lengths) It is under the healthy range, I am even near the healthy range. But it is still a good score. My goal for next time is at least to get twenty or more. I also think I am going to get a better score because on the weekends/ every Sunday we do a sport. Like we usually do tennis and now my family is going to start going to a track and run around it.

For my abdominal strength ( number of curl ups) I did get a bit of a low score of thirty-two push ups. So at home if I have time or on Sundays with my family one of my warm ups will now be doing some curl ups to get a better score for next time.

Lastly for flexibility- sit and reach, I did get a score of 15.( stupid long legs and shortish arms) But for now on during free time or on Sundays I will be stretching down to my toes so for next time I could get a higher score for my sit and reach.

So now I have many goals to aim for, for our next fitness score tests. Every weekend or during some free time at home I will do exercises so I can achieve my goal. Lets see if I can do it!

Flight Or Invisibility?

If I had to choose flight or invisibility, I would choose flight. I would choose flight because one of the reasons is you won't be able to tire out your legs or walk so far. Also it could be faster than walking, so if you're late for a play date or sleepover, you can quickly fly there. Lastly, something bad with it is that if you fly to fast when you are down low, you can get out of control and smash into something, then get hurt real bad.

One good thing about being able to fly is that you don't have to walk to far. So if you are walking from your school to home, when your school is REALLY far from home, you can just take a 30 second to a 1 minute flight home. Not even that! Now that is one of the good perks about being able to fly.

Another good thing about being able to fly is that it's fast and you won't ever be late. I would love that because my bus always takes so long to get home, and sometimes I want to go home earlier sometimes. Also if you want you don't have to take the bus and fly home with your friends. Now I would like that!

One thing that is a bit bad with flying, is that if you fly down low and too fast, you could get out of control then smash into something that can injure you real bad. Now if I could fly, I would try to fly responsibly even though I would really like to have fun twirling around and flying fast. But you have got to look out for where you are going. You never know if you will ever get out of control and smash into something.

Now you know what I would do, as well as what are good things and bad things about flying. You won't be able to tire out your legs easily by walking far and you can fly home with your BFF's. But you could always get out of control and smash into something if you aren't responsible. Now would you like to have the power to fly?

Tibetan Bowls With Bill Cael

Today we experienced a session with Ancient tibetan bowls. The Ancient Tibetan bowls were even Sining bowls. What we had today was an experience that you might never have. Today I will tell you about why I m glad that we got to do this and my experience.

I am glad that we got to do this because you will never really get to experience this. It's probably for some people a once in a lifetime. So for me, this session was AMAZING! It was my first time ever doing this and it took me yo like another place. So I am really glad that our class got to experience this Tibetan bowl session.

What I experienced was absolutely amazing. I went into a whole different world! I felt buzzes through my body, I could sometimes see pictures in my head and after the session I could still hear the bowls singing. What I could picture was something I have never seen before! I was on top of a mountain and it was so peaceful and behind me was a beautiful temple with a bunch of angels looking at me, and trust me I was not daydreaming or dreaming! I know you think its just a bit weird that  I saw that, but it did. Sometimes I felt like a movement in my body, like sometimes I felt like I was slowly spinning in a circle but I wasn't. Even sometimes I felt little buzzes throughout my body. So I experienced a lot in that session!

This was a time to never really forget. It was amazing that you can feel things, see things and experience things that you have never experienced before. I saw that our class was really lucky to do this Ancient Tibetan Singing Bowls session with Bill Cael!

Field Trip To The Images Of Singapore

Today our class went on a field trip to the Pictures Of Singapore museum. The museum was amazing! I learned a lot about things that I didn't know. Today I will tell you about two things that I learned, what was hard and how much fun I had.

One thing that I learned was that batik sarongs are an original and traditional craft for Indonesia and  Malaysia wear. Batik sarongs are a traditional wear on Indonesian and Malaysian dance of their culture. As well as, Indonesian and Malaysian people wear batik sarongs because of there culture.

The second thing that I learned was that in 1942 the Japanese came into war with Singapore. It was important because Singapore could have lost everything and not be how it was now. What was good was that in 1945 the Japanese surrendered and made independence with Singapore. So I learned a lot about the war with Japanese in Singapore.

What was hard for me was trying not to walk and write because if we found something that we wanted to write about, we didn't know what the other good options were.  Also it was hard to walk and write. What was also hard was finding some secondary sources at first because we walked into this room and there were only primary sources and not any secondary sources. So then in the end Meaghan, Alexa, Jade and I wrote down that the props and the wax people were secondary sources. We chose that because in the props they could have copied some primary source objects. Lastly for the  wax people they copied what some main people looked like.

I had so much fun at the museum today! First I had so much fun going around the museum and having fun acting like some of the wax people and seeing what they did. What was also fun was having a lot of fun with my friends during lunch time and throughout the museum. It was kind of funny in the museum because Meaghan, Alexa and jade kept on creeping up on me and scaring me( sad face).

So now you know what was the main thing I learned, what was hard for me, and how much fun I had. But there was so much that I learned that I can't put it all in words! Our field trip to the Images Of Singapore museum was amazing and I recommend you should go there!

Science Reflection

This first semester in school has been so much fun during science. We have learned about mixtures, solutions, chemical reactions, precipitates, etc. It was so fun this semester, but I think that everyone
agrees that our unit of chemical reactions was the best. I am sad that our science unit is almost over, but I am still exited to learn about things in our new unit Social Studies. Lastly, next I will tell you about what was my favorite experiment and why it was so good. Also, I will tell you about what I could do differently next time.

My favorite experiment was when we had made mixtures inside of bags, which made a chemical reaction. But it also made a gas form, so it looked like it was going to explode! Inside the bags were Calcium Chloride, water and also Citric Acid. In bag 1 we put in Calcium Chloride and water, not that much gas was formed but there was still a lot. But my favorite bag was bag 3 because we put in all the ingredients. Once all the ingredients were in and we added water it was so big! It was so big that Imagine Dragon's table mixture exploded! That is why the chemical reactions unit was my favorite.

What I should do differently next time is not telling everyone to be faster, because our group sometimes couldn't finish our project so I told them to be a bit faster. But now I recognize that I should have not said that because it didn't help. So now on I will stop saying "be faster be faster!"

This first semester was so much fun in our science unit. Now lets start Social Studies!
