Effective Communications Real Life Situation

One of the effective communications situation that happens a lot is with my mom. I was trying to talk to my mom about my day, so I kept calling my moms name while she was in the other room doing her emails. But, then my mom started to get really angry and mad at me because I kept annoying her. So, then I ended up feeling kind of upset, almost as if my mom didn't want to hear about my day. As well as, I felt a bit upset since my mom got a bit stressed and angry at me. But, I thought back to our effective communications presentations and I remembered one tool I really liked and needed to work on was working around my parents schedules. Later on, once my mom finished her emails, came back into the living room and sat down. I sat down with my mom and I told her I was sorry and now that I learnt to work around her schedule, as well as talked about my day. In the end, my mom was really impressed and finally glad I was going to start to work around her schedule. So, this tool is very useful and successful for me.
