October 26: Interactive Map

The blue dots represent the earthquakes. Each shade of blue represent how strong/ level of the earthquake. For example, the darkest blue represents a 9 earthquake and the lightest blue represents a 5 earthquake. As well as, the other colours represent levels in between.

What I have discovered with this map is mostly all the earthquakes in South America go along the coastline of the West

San Andres Fault, Transform Fault

For our project we decided to use San Andres Fault to show and explain a transform fault. San Andres Fault is known for having the most famous fault. A transform fault is where two rocks are side by side but the plate underneath each rocks are going into separate directions. So as you can see in the video the plate underneath, it is causing San Andres Fault to move so eventually in the future San Andres Fault will be from North America.

Week 2

1. What is the difference between an Observation and an Inference?
The difference between an observation and an inference is that an observation is what you find using your senses and measurements. But an inference is an educated guess of what happened or what something is, you don't find clues or important information like an observation, you just guess.

2. How can inferences and observations be related?
Observations and inferences can be related because you use both of them to figure out a certain something. And you get an observation and an inference by using senses.

3. Why are both observations and inferences important in science?
Inferences and observations are important in science because you always have to observe and take notes of changes happening, objects, etc. Also, inferences can be helpful trying to solve somethings.
